Hard to figure how my boss keeps his job. Arrogant prick who likes to play gotcha. Has enough baggage that he could have been fired, but my coworkers fear losing their jobs as well.

i have just started my first real job after grad and i haate it. I'm just about completing 6 months here and it makes me so depressed since I'm working for a small company and my boss has super high expectations of me. He acts as though ive been with the company for like 5 years and talks to me about things as though of course i should be aware of them...i havent had any formal training which is okay, but when he puts me down for not knowing something it's really hurtful/annoying. I am in a fairly technical field and him being the way he is just really stresses me out. I feel like i should have started my first real job with a big company with a formal training program for new grads. This really does suck and has had a very negative effect on my thinking and just everyday life in general. I hate going to work every morning coz all i think about is "i wonder whats gonna go wrong today". I am scared to ask him questions because he is so unapproachable and makes me feel like an idiot for asking questions. Everyday is a constant battle between trying to figure out whether i should ask questions and be put down (and hence feel discouraged), or not ask questions and just do what my mind says but run the risk of screwing up.

My boss is a total a-hole. He's sexist and argues about everything, he has to be right and you are wrong. The other day he asked me a question and when I answered, he was psychoanalysing me. Who the hell does he think he is, Dr Phil? Then he said I 'confuse' him. When you challenge him, he makes it seem like you're wrong and crazy. I'm in a management position but I can make NO decisions. Then he likes to publically humiliate people. There's not one morsel of pleasantries about him. I HATE HIM. Hope he dies while driving home!

Now i have a chance for this 2nd (new) job, and she wants me to work tonight. idk. She is just a bitch. Just wanted to vent.

Not that it matters but i work for a lesbian who wishes that she was born a man. I have a job at my university where I basically do nothing because my boss is doing her dissertation to get her Ph.D. Any who my boss is one of the most unprofessional people on the planet, she doesn't respond to people when they need her, she brings in her kids at work, take 3 hour lunch breaks with her girlfriend (literally). She had a conversation with me today saying that she doesn't feel that I am a great asset to the office because she feels that I do nothing in the office, and so she wants to fire me!!! As said earlier she takes too much breaks and basically doesn't have time for people. Since I work in a university everyones contact info or personal is kept in a file, my boss illegally gave two students access into everyones records and she has been doing this for two years since I worked there. One of my co-workers wrote a letter of complaint about this to her higher up (they wanted to remain anonymous about his) and once he received the letter immediately her manager had a meeting with her. Right after there little chit chat my boss had a meeting with the staff at the office individually. When she met with me she said that who ever wrote the complaint is a coward!!! And she said that by law she can leave whenever she wants and can have a four week break, thats when she told me that shes been wanting to have a meeting with me sometime (she repeated this twice when she met with me curious don't you think?) because she feels that I don't have good work ethic and that I don't take pride in working at the office, part of the reasoning is because she has no communication skills what so ever, and everyone at the office knows this!!! She may have a vendetta against me, some of the other co-workers feel that thinks I'm stupid as a person, I also believe that she thinks that I wrote the complaint letter!!! Thank you for letting me vent please if you have any suggestions or input please write something down. I seriously think my boss is a fucking unorganized ass!!! (also when she was going for her masters she had to write a 30 page paper, her girlfriend has a masters in english and so she made her girlfriend write the paper, thats how unorganized she is!!!)

To say I loathe my boss doesn't even begin to fully detail what I have bottled inside....
I found out from our H.R manager, who is a very close friend of mine, that my boss tried to take away my accrued PTO. Note: I have all my PTO already scheduled since October, submitted and signed off on by said boss. He is claiming that since I lost my full-time status I can't have my PTO. H.R showed him in the handbook that all employees are entitled to PTO after 90 days of employment and I've been employed there for 3 years.

So i stumbled on to here and all this stuff is very funny/sad. I thought i had nothing to contribute though until i remembered my last job as a cashier/janitor/freezerguy/stocker obviously for a grocery store. I didn't really work there that long but I as i've heard it, this boss lady (she's the manager)is a real sexist bitch. I mean, the coworkers aren't really that great anyway but she seemed to really have it in for men. Needless to say, the "owner" only got his job cuz his father got him a sweet spot in the company. Seems to me that this very intelligent over-achiever really knew what sort of quality he was getting when she picked her as a manager! Anyway, i got a bit of a taste of it when i had some emergencies at school i had to do and needed the day off (i call her a week in advance). because she is obviously well versed in how to treat employees and get the best out of them, she decides to tell everyone that she needs two weeks prior notice before you can have a day off. even if you're sick, which is real head scratcher to me. Anyway, because of my call she started yelling at me and telling me that i owed it to her to come in because she would be short staffed. What? because you know exactly when everyone's gonna be sick (i'm talking to her now)? I'm sure you knew exactly when (censored female name) was going to have a headache so you gave her a day off even when it was busy right? Fuck, i told you three weeks in advance that i was having my birthday and you still schedule me for the evening?! Look lady, just because your husband left you doesn't mean you have to take it out on men in general (or the world) and let them suffer because you yourself want to be a man too! And what about your son? you never let him make his own decisions! and just because he's finally made one and got with my sister doesn't mean you can dictate where she and he go just because you have the idea of moving! Fuck you lady, get off your fucking high horse and learn to deal with your own mistakes (by the way, i met your former husband and he's real chill). So while you sit in your favorite old smelling armchair, i'm just glad you have to deal with my sister too! not because i've got a few choice words for you, oh no. it's because she's way better at it than me! haha. (yes, my dear old sister made her cry) anyway. i left because i didn't want to feel pressured to worship your lordnesship, i mean just look at your workers! they been pussied whipped for sure. and not the good kind either. You gots teeth lady and it stinks as bad as the candy aisle where the dead rat resides even when you've told everyone you've cleaned it up . I got my old job back. unlike you they like me.and the expectations aren't that high. Why would they? i get paid min wage. So why would i work my ass off just for that? I have enough high expectations already with school, music, and my photography. So long lady. I hope you choke on your cigarette. your son deserves a better mother.

I hate my boss more than anything else in this world. I dream about god or the devil saying: "Chose one person to die!" I wouldn't answer "Usama", and if he had been alive I wouldn't have said "Hitler". I'd say the name of my boss. God damn, I hate him!!!

My boss is by far the worst boss I have ever encountered. She has literally 'ripped' me apart emotionally. I'm an assistant which is the bottom of the food chain in an insurance company, prior to me accepting the role I did inform this bitch of a manager that I would require training, however I've been there for 15 months and I have not once had a training session. Prior to entering this role I was one of the most bubbly, outgoing persons you would ever meet. However she has shot my confidence to the point that I am now doubting my potential and now my position within the industry...... It is effecting my personal life including the relationship that I've had with my G/F for more two and a half years. She yells at me for not doing the work she allocates to me correctly, but I have not been trained in the work she has done. I make mistakes when doing her work and she has the hide to yell at me in an office environment...... She humiliates me...... I have no Idea what to do...... I used to smile....... not anymore, she put a stop to that...

Never in my life have I had to cope with such a difficult and exhausting boss... She's unable to focus on more than one thing at a time. I don't know if she's dumb or just incompetent, she's not lazy but everybody alway has to do everything for her which is soooo weary and frustrating!!! I have a coworker with who I work closely very frequently and none of us can take it anymore! We found a funny iphone app who helps you deal with your boss' flaws . Pretty cool and relieving actually! According to the test, mine is both a "hare" and a "rhino" ;D We've started advised strategies today: made my day! I advize it to anyone who's boss is a psycho. It's called Psychoboss (more info here http://www.psychoboss.net). Would love to swap revenge stories (especially if yours a "peacock", ;D very intrigued!)

BOSS: I know your mother's in the hospital, but I can't cover for you tomorrow. ME: Why not? BOSS: Because ... tomorrow's my birthday. I had no idea that people in their fifties still attached so much importance to their birthdays. It just goes to show that you're never too old for clowns and pony rides, even if one of your employees has a family member being treated for pneumonia.
