My boss is absolutely insane. He calls me literally every 10 mins, asking me not only what I accomplished in those ten minutes, but basically to tell him again what I told him in the last ten mins...he's just a complete f-in child. Then, he's like ok meet me in my office to discuss what else is yet to be discussed at the end of the day. There's nothing left to talk about douchebag!! He wonders why I don't have a complete Barbie smile plastered on my face everyday and well because he's f-in annoying!!!! I can't get anything done and he wonders why this and that isn't edited within his certain deadline. The guy is as impatient as a four-year old in line for the ice cream truck. I'll continue... then when I meet him in his office, trying so desperately to control my anger, he just continues jolting around the phone, pretending he's busy talking to "big-wigs" and makes me wait another 20 mins. A. he either has the memory of a goldfish B. never really listens to me in the first place or C. Enjoys the sound of his own sheepish voice that ever so blaringly squaks out of the phone...I. Hate. I hate my boss because he is so crazy! Sometimes he seens to be my friend, sometimes he seems to hate me. He never has any idea of what he is doing and stays most of the day surfing on the internet and them goes to me and tell me to do a million things, always the boring and hard stuff. And the thing is that he doesn't know what he wants. He tells me to do one thing and them tells me to do another. I think he is crazy, and I might as well become crazy working with him. I will probably quit this fucking job by the end of the year!

I am being eaten up by hate in my job I've never HATED any boss as much as my one. I complained to my union rep 3 imes in the first year I worked here and have NEVER done that before! She is abusive, arrogant ("My times much more important than yours"), callous, nit-picking (picks on the way people talk, dress), openly descriminates against mothers who work, unreasonable demands, clock-watching, treats everyone like children, nazi biartch! There are four seniors bosses, all female and at least two of them use stand-over tactics and intimidate people so much they are too scared to say anything...If I stay in this job my life expectancy will definitely ebb away, but how to find another job in this recession? I am going to go insane....

My boss told me I had to relocate to a distant office and drive backwards and forwards to the city (a 75km round trip) but that he would cover my fuel. Now he's renegged on the fuel and reduced my days to 4 so I spend a large proportion of my income on fuel, delivering things for him! Not only that but he told me I can't have the public holiday off next week, while every other employee can. Would anyone out there resign over this treatment?

To anonymous guest July 26 - I just read your message and I can totally sympathise with you. I'm guessing you're a PA right? My boss rings me for everything including telephone numbers that he has in his blackberry, which is in his hand. He asks me constantly have I finished this or that and I think "if you left me alone for 5 mins I could actually get something finished". My boss is quite old so I put it down to him needing his wife and his PA to do everything for him. I can't find any other explanation for him, or for yours, other than that they're completely retarded.

My boss is such a boring person. At first I thought she only need to smoke some pot to relax. But man... after almost a year in the job working with her I think she doesn´t have a cure. She always talk about weather and do silly small talk... she really enjoy to talk about unimportant stuff. I hate been around her and we work in the same room... she loves to tell off for nothing...

My boss is the biggest idiot in the entire world. She drives me totally crazy. She tries to art direct me but isn't an artist, designer, and has horrible taste in...everything. I have a BS in design and the clients seem to like my direction but she will shoot me down just to show who is in charge. She constantly says inappropriate things to clients and "speaks her mind" way too much. My problem is that I fight back because I just want the product to be made...correctly.

My boss is the worst i think. She has called me fat, (Which i am not.) she has said im lazy when i do most of the work that has to be done. She is a smoker as i am and often smokes in front of me knowing i smoke. She tries to flirt with my boyfriend who also works there as a life guard. And she spends most of the day in her office on facebook or on her phone!!

My boss is not actually my boss, his son is because he went bankrupt and is just using his sons name to start another business, but he bosses me and his son around. He doesnt do any work because i do all of his job for him. He creates silly little things to do like rearrange the pens, and if theres nothing petty like that to do he starts nitpicking about the job im doing.

When he is "going to a meeting", i.e seeing his mistress, he calls me every 10 minutes asking me if i finished the things he told me to do, which i have to describe in great detail, even if it means recalling every sentence of a phone conversation, then calling back so i have to explain it all again in another 10 minutes. If I werent finished he would just be interrupting and slowing me down.

Everytime i call a company to find out a piece of information, he decides he doesnt believe me and makes me call back and ask exactly the same thing again, which makes me look ridiculous. He also speaks to me while im on the phone

If he finds a mistake that he's made, even if its only small, he gathers people around tells them it was MY mistake, ridicules ME in front of them and does not give me a chance to explain that it was HIS fault.

I have to drop business related things that im doing just to do petty things for him. Things that he can easily do for himself but he feels like THE MAN if he can make someone else do it, like I have to drop what Im doing and walk into another room where im sitting because he doesnt feel liek swiveling his chair to pick up his own glasses which are right behind him!! Then he will probably realise the pen is a metre away from him so I have to come back again.

He also likes to attempt to make small talk whilst insulting me at the same time. "Oh, your father doesn't OWN a house?- I own three", "How long have you had your car?, you should really get a newer one"

On top of that he pays me ONE THIRD, and im not joking, of the minimum wage in this country. also no superannuation and i dont get declared to the tax department.

ive been working for a company for 4.5 years and im now stuck in an all female management team. Im fairly young compared to many people that hold my position in the company, so to better myself and to learn more i rang a guy at a bigger trading store and asked if he would take me on to do some training. As per usual i was the worst person in the world because now i was away for a few weeks, her roster had to change and she had to work night shifts and had to work a few extra hours... Didums maybe if you had the same initiave you wouldnt still be in your shit workplace. No one has any respect for her because she is all high and mighty, shes never wrong and she treats me like she cos shes jealous i actually go out and try to make something of myself. Now i remember why i dont take sick days or holidays, cos its too bloody painful to deal with the consequences. You know what...the guy that was training me was so pleased he tried to keep me but when his boss wouldnt back him up cos it meant he had to grow some balls and shift some dead weight in the company.(this company is all about growing and developing staff to that they may progress.....hahaha try being a keen and intelligent woman in her twentys....it all a boy club) All of a sudden guess whos fault it is for leaving a certain boss out of the loop....sorry sweetheart i can only friggin communicate what i know about!!!!! Im not a friggin mind reader!!!!! And now i am the worst person in the world.... This woman is the devil, i swear it to be true.

I work in health care and I have a boss who is a royal bitch. The people that kiss her ass seem to get away with murder and yet she singles me out because I tell her the way it is. She's so busy micro managing everyone instead of jumping in and helping when we get slammed. Everyone talks about her behind her back because she talks out of both side of her mouth. She will lie to save her own ass in front of her crew and the bosses. She even went so far once as to take my idea and stand up in a monthly staff meeting with all the bosses present and present the idea AND take credit for it. I wanted to bitch slap her right there. She's constantly calling me on the radio when I'm tied up with a patient in the hospital and asking me when I'll be back in the department. She did this yesterday to me and kept calling on the radio in the middle of the patient crashing. The Dr. was in the room and two other nurses and myself with the patient and we're all working on her to kept her blood pressure up. When I returned to my department I asked her what her problem was and she replied that they were slammed downstairs and they needed me. WHATEVER!!! Whatever happened to good patient care? She doesn't care and she shouldn't be in health care. Shit happens and our work is unpredictable and I resent being treated as if I need to be monitored. She told me I should have called her to let her know I was going to be tied up upstairs. Well EXCUSE ME! Let me just ask this dying old lady to pause with her crisis so I can walk out of the room and go to the fucking phone and call my boss. Myself and one other person have been there for the longest and there isn't much I don't know about my job. Patient are constantly praising me and the job that I do for them and yet she seems to do nothing but nag me. I work myself to the bone there and I never stop running the entire day,,,,I work overtime whenever they need me and I take extra on call time. I have the heaviest patient load according to logs and have never had a patient complaint and she still is up my ass nine miles. Her and I have went toe to toe over the past couple of years because I will not back down. She does not hold the others accountable for their jobs and we have several people that will just sit around and chit chat while patients are waiting and work is backing up. When others don't do their job I end up having to pick up the slack because we are under time constraints. I don't know how much longer I can do it. It's affecting my attitude at work because it is a no win situation. My boss over her is a YES man and doesn't want any confrontation. He'll let you bitch all day about an issue but won't do anything about it. I'm seriously thinking I need to transfer out to another department. I love what I do but I can't tolerate ineffective bosses who play favorites with employees and so help me god, the next one of them who says at a monthly staff meeting, "we welcome your input", is going to be shot on site. They don't want your input,,,,they want you to sit there and keep your piehole shut. I don't understand how these people get into these positions of authority, and more than that, how they keep their jobs when they are so clearly inept. My boss is on a kick lately where she is rationing out supplies to us. We have to go to her like little school kids and beg and plead our case so we can get what we need to do our jobs. Health care is stressful enough every day muchless to deal with an idiot boss. The problem is, they are everywhere and leaving and going somewhere else is just trading one problem for another. In healthcare, especially in a small area, the bad ones just move up the ranks or to other sites and ultimately you end up working with them somewhere else. I'm still thankful I'm working but between my husband who is an E.R. RN and my position, we're both ready to just crack under the stress of it all.<Deep breath>
